Hi guys! I haven't posted an outfit post yet in 2015. This is because I didn't like my background anymore. Every outfit post on my blog has been taken in my bedroom against a plain white wall and while I love lots of bloggers that post outfits like this I just didn't feel happy with them. I spent the majority of January figuring out a way that I can get an outfit post up every week and I've finally hatched a plan. Here's the first of many 2015 outfits, enjoy!

I really love these photos so much and I think outside outfit pictures give you guys a bit of context like the weather etc. I also had so much fun shooting, I just need to become a bit more confident and start shooting in various locations too.

The outfit's not too exciting but it's been my go to outfit for college recently because it's easy to throw on be comfortable for my 9am - 5:30pm course.

Top - Newlook
Jeans - Primark
Shoes - Zara
Bag - H&M
Cardigan - River Island
and the usual watch - Nixon

This long cardigan is one of my favourite purchases from last Autumn. It's so cosy and although it resembles a cape I love it for throwing over a simple outfit to add something different.

I'm so excited to start posting more outfit posts in the coming months. I'm hoping one a week for now. Be sure to follow me on bloglovin and check out my other recent blogposts. See you soon x

I go to college three days a week and the rest of the time I spend at home. Being able to work from home is both a blessing and a curse for me. I end up spending half the week locked in my house and it's been making me feel so sluggish and I tend to make the work that I have to do drag out twice as long as it needs to.

On Thursday my parents' car had to go in for a service and I was faced with two options. Get on a bus or walk home from college which takes about 50-60 minutes. Even though I didn't really want to walk I 100% did not want to step foot on a bus so I decided to walk. It was freezing cold but it was so great. I had almost an hour to myself, left alone with my thoughts on a crisp Winter afternoon. As previous blogposts also state, I over think everything and it can leave me feeling so trapped. This walk gave me time to think about the future and also made me appreciate where I live so much. The buildings, the open spaces and the peace and quiet that I've never noticed much before.

I've made a pact to myself that I'm going to get out of the house and go for a walk every single day. I've been thinking about the Summer a little bit and although I feel perfectly happy with my body I want to tone up a little so I'll slowly begin running soon too.

Exercise is so great for both your body and your mind. It gives me time to think about my dreams and start putting my plans into action. I've started working on something super super exciting that I can hopefully share in the next couple of months. It's made me feel so motivated and I just feel very happy and lucky at the moment. Lucky that I have free time that others don't have to work on projects and lucky to be surrounded by supportive people that never let me think that my dreams are too big.

I love writing reminders/goals for myself on my blog and this post is no exception. I'm writing to my future self.

Stop worrying about the future. Stop planning so far ahead. Your life can change in a single moment so stop thinking that everything is permanent, stop worrying about where you might live or who you might live with, what job you might be doing and if it's something you'll enjoy. IT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET. Stop fretting about the future because you waste your present with every single worry you have for the future. If what you fear may arise in the future does, then deal with it then not now. The problem may not even occur and then you'll have just wasted your time.

If you're worrying too much;

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY then go for a walk, clear your mind and remind yourself that nothing lasts forever. Do what feels right in your heart, stop thinking so much and just do. Live in the present and do what you love. Everything works out well in the end, it has before and it will again.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT then go to sleep. The worst time to think is when you're alone in your silent dark room. Every issue or fear that you have is multiplied by one thousand. Don't lose sleep worrying about what feels like the end of the world because you'll wake up in the morning and realise the problem isn't even a problem.

Realise that this is your life, make the choices that feel right for you. Your actions now will shape the future so either fill your future with fear and negativity or fill it with hope and positivity for things to come. I know it's easier said than done but believe your past self, everything will be just fine.

If you're a beginner then watch THIS video. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and have continued replaying it since. I started my blog at the end of 2012, so over two years ago. It's so easy for me to sit and feel like I'm stuck in a rut, and think I'm not progressing. But this video has made me realise that it takes time.

Looking back at posts I produced in 2012 and comparing them to how I write today I can recognise how far I've come. Even though I'm not totally satisfied with my blog at this point I have a lot of things that I want to try and do with it. So the plan is this:
- Continue posting regularly
- Write posts on lots of subjects and find my forte
- Improve outfit pictures, find different places to take pictures

I hope that by doing this, my blog can become more than a hobby. Not for the free stuff, not to earn loads of money or to become an 'internet celebrity'. I want to do it simply because I love it. I don't think anyone could wish for anything more than their hobby to become a small source of income to enable them to dedicate as much time as possible to it. Blog views are increasing slowly and I feel like I'm beginning to find my own, unique writing style and also pin point the types of posts that I want to publish.

So if like me, you are the creative type who occasionally feels like packing it all in to chase a 'normal job/ dream' (me last night) then watch THIS video.
'It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap and your work will be as good as your ambitions'

Wanderlust : A strong desire to travel.

I've always looked forward to settling down. When I was a little girl I couldn't wait to buy a nice house, marry the man of my dreams and start a family. I always thought I'd stay in my hometown. As I've gotten older I've realised just how huge the world is. How many places I wish to go, people I wish to see and once in a life time opportunities that I wish to experience. How does one settle but also see the world?

As much as my fear of experiencing new things leaves me wanting to stay in the same place forever I simply cannot let that happen. The world is so huge but I wish to see it all. I have such a huge desire to travel. My family have never been too fond of travelling. I love travelling within the comfort of the UK, everyone speaks the same language and everything's the same just a new location.

So here I am, at the age of 18 wondering how the hell I'm going to be able to do everything that I want to do, go everywhere I want to go. That's my biggest flaw. Over thinking. It causes so much unneeded stress. Tonight I'm sat thinking about the places I'd love to live; Central London, Northern Ireland, by the sea. They're all so different but how do you find out which one is right for you without trying them all?

That leads me on to another question. How do you know what career is right for you without trying them all? What car is right for you without driving them all? Maybe it's just a matter of following your heart.

Usually when my brain's working overtime like tonight I go to one of my friends but I thought I'd come here and write instead. See you soon x

Hi guys, so today I thought I'd write the reasons why I blog because I think it's always interesting to find out how people got into blogging.

So, around four and a half years ago I began watching Youtubers and got so much enjoyment out of it. I started following lots of vloggers and from that I found out about blogs. After toying with the idea of starting my own blog, finally two years ago I couldn't resist the urge any longer and I began blogging. I started slightly earlier by posting my blogposts on tumblr but felt that it wasn't the correct place for me to post. So I started my first blog called 'Fashionandthingz'. In the two years that I've been blogging I have had many name changes and finally last year I decided to just use my name. I'd not done this previously because I was worried about people from my school finding my blog.

So there's some background about my blog and how I started. Now I just thought I'd finish this post with the reasons why I blogging.

  • I blog to express myself. I feel like a blog is one place on the internet that you can put whatever you please and if people don't want to read it then they aren't subjected to it like they are if they were to follow you on a social media platform like Twitter etc.
  • I love the ever growing community within the blogging and vlogging world. You can become friends with people all over the world simply by putting content online which I think is so cool.
  • Everyone (almost) is so supportive of others and always congratulates people for doing well.
  • There are a few things/people that I wish would change and become positive but the community sticks together and as I said, support others whether they are bloggers known worldwide or just run a small blog.
  • I also love that I can do this hobby from the comfort of my own room or venture out to take outfit pictures and other things. It's like my own online diary.
So that's why I blog. I hope you liked this post, see you tomorrow.

Hi guys, I posted a '3 Autumnal Nail Polishes' a couple of months ago and thought it might be a good idea to start a little '3 ....' series on my blog. It won't be a post that you'll see all the time but I'm sure I'll add to it every month or two.

So today I thought I'd show you three pairs of boots that have you covered for all occasions. I like the look of boots and dresses in the summer but boots are perfect for cold and wet weather because the keep your feet so much warmer. These are my three pairs of staple boots.

A lace up, worker style boot is the perfect casual boot and can be worn in lots of different ways. Docs are a great casual boot and are such great quality that they last almost forever. My pair are off white and I got them from a factory shop and only paid £35 for them. I went for a light colour to add to the informality of the shoe. There are lots of alternatives and casual boots are so easy to wear and style. A pair of jeans and a shirt or with a cute playsuit in the warmer months.

THE 50/50 BOOT
The name will make more sense when you see the final boot but this is essentially the semi casual, semi formal boot. A boot that you can easily take from day to night by changing up your outfit slightly. Perfect if you're having a shopping day with the girls and then going out for dinner in the evening. Super comfortable and with the slight heel will support your feet sufficiently when walking long distances.

Similarly to the 50/50 boot, these can be worn casual during the day and dressed up in the evening. As someone who is average height (5'4") I sometimes like to add a but of height. Especially if I'm wearing a long jacket, I just think it really adds to the overall look of the outfit. These boots are super comfortable and I brought them from Newlook on ASOS. They were featured in my Christmas Day OOTD if you want to see them on.

I'm usually a trainer person and wear flats every single day but I really want to switch up my style this year and these are three pairs of shoes that I think everyone should have in their shoe closet.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and I'll see you tomorrow. Bye x

Hi guys, so I got a new watch for Christmas so I thought I'd dedicate a post to it as I did with my previous Casio watch (HERE).

If you compare this watch to my previous watch they have a couple of similarities. The first being the fact that they both have gold faces and the second being that they both have black leather straps. I guess I love the look of a classic watch and the fact that you can wear it with anything.

I love how simple the face is with no numbers, just lines marking each hour on the watch. Although the face is a lot larger than my previous watch it's the perfect size and doesn't look at all bulky on the wrist. The overall service that I received was great, postage was fast and the watch came packaged securely to keep the watch protected. I am definitely looking at more watches by Nixon to purchase in the future.

The direct link to the watch that I purchased is HERE.
The link for their website is HERE. They have so many different styles to suit lots of different tastes so I highly recommend going over and having a little look.

See you soon x

After setting my previous post live I sat and thought about all of the projects that I could create for my blog. For a while I was totally stumped. I had no idea what projects I'd be able to do. Then I realised that perhaps I don't have many ideas right now but I'll find them soon. Every single day I find inspiration for blog posts in so many different places. I've created a plan for blog posts for January but change the plan daily because I end up thinking of ideas that I feel are better than my previous. At home, on the internet, out in the 'real world'. It's not a case of simply becoming inspired, you've got to search for it and take any opportunity to possibly find inspiration.

It's everywhere, you've just got to open your eyes and mind.

I know my last couple of posts seem to suggest that I have little free time, but I'm determined to make time to get more creative. I've always been arty and love getting stuck in with creative projects. For two years prior to starting my Graphic Design course I did no art what so ever. As soon as I'd completed my Art GCSE I stopped doing anything that involved art. I have a feeling that the reason for this was that I didn't really get a choice when doing my GCSE, you're forced to work in a certain way to meet the criteria set by the exam board.

I really want my blog and YouTube channel to feature creative projects that other people can also get involved with. I really love doing art and wish for the future of my blog and channel to be filled with various projects from basic things to advanced projects that may take more time.

If you're sitting reading this thinking 'but I'm not good at art' STOP. I believe that everyone can do art. It's about expressing yourself and that's the only thing that's important. I don't think art work can be good or bad, if you open your mind you'll realise that art work is as good as you wish to interpret it. Since starting my college course I've slowly become confident with holding my work up in front of the rest of the class without feeling like my work isn't as good as everyone else's. Just because my work looks different to everyone else's doesn't mean it's not as good. You simply created it in a different way. As I've said, art's about expressing yourself and becoming inspired by things around you.

So that's the plan. Lot's of creative projects to spice up the ol' blog and get my creative juices flowing. I also hope that this will help me get an idea of what parts of art I enjoy the most in hopes that I can get some kind of idea of what careers could be good for me.

I hope you're excited about this because I am! Let's get creative.

See you all soon x

Over the past few days I became quite upset about the thought of going back to college. As I explained in my previous post I love every aspect of it however I hate that I don't have much of a structure during the holidays. This is good for my blog because I have plenty of time to write and plan posts but it means that I then feel like as soon as I'm back at college I'll be snowed under with work and end up putting this at the bottom of my to do list like I've done for the past two years. (Also wtf I've been writing a blog for two years!) I don't want this to be put at the bottom of my list. I don't want to have to prioritise because I've been slacking.

So, no more excuses as to why I can't do this and that. Less time worrying that I can't fit it all in and I will just push on through and get everything settled within the next few weeks. Get posts written in advanced, get college work done before the deadlines and hopefully it will mean I can put a lot of my energy into my blog and my YouTube channel which has been slightly delayed however I'm hoping for my video to go up in the next few days! There'll be a new post tomorrow so I'll see you then :)

So I'll just leave you with this thought, If you want to do it enough you'll make time not excuses. Chase your dreams x

I love my college course. I love the people on the course and I enjoy what I learn. However, I've felt quite down over the last few days knowing that the holiday is nearing an end and I'll be back to college in two days.

I love having the time to do what I enjoy, knowing I can lay in if I like, I can go to bed late if I want to. I've been so happy for the whole of the holiday. But then it sort of hit me this morning that I'll be back at college for half the week and working whenever I can to earn money. I'm afraid that I'm going to run out of time to keep doing this, blogging. I get so much enjoyment from doing it and after a deep chat with my bestest college pal we've made a pact. I've got to spend every single second of my time at college getting every piece of work completed so that all my free time at home can be spent making something out of my hobby. This blog is something I'm so passionate about and I believe it could help lead me to a successful career. Many people don't think so but I'm determined to prove them wrong.

Fashion and writing and photography and videography makes me so happy and if I could do those things every single day it would make me so happy.

My time management skills have been truly atrocious over the past couple of years but I'm determined to sort that out in 2015. I need to start taking steps that will lead me to a bright and happy career and future. I also need to stop worrying about how things will work out in the future, live for today!

So I've come to the conclusion that, although holidays are great to recuperate, they're not so great for longer than a week because I end up thinking I'll have no time for my hobbies. I guess I've just got to learn to make time.

Thursday, 1 January 2015

Hi guys, happy new year everyone! I love setting goals for myself so decided it would be a nice idea to list them on my blog in hopes that it will push me to complete them by the end of 2015.

1. Blog more. I love my little space on the internet and hope to fill it with a huge variety posts in 2015. I'm hoping to post 5 times a week, wish me luck.

2. Youtube. A place that I've really grown to love in the past few years. I want to start making my own videos after studying media and film studies so I'm so excited to get this started. My aim is to post at least one video a week every single week. I've had two failed starts over the last couple of year so let's hope it's third time lucky.

3. Organise my time. Something I'm not so great at. But with college and my first and second new years resolution I'm going to make an effort to me time management my forte.

4. Be adventurous. Stop being scared of every bad thing that could happen and just do it. Deal with the consequences later or never. You're only young once so take every chance you get.

5. Travel. Be it simply in the UK or adventure elsewhere in Europe.

6. Start my own online shop. I'm not sure what I want to sell yet but I want to design prints to go on products. Since working for my Mum I know that I want my own business, so I'm ready to get started.

Overall I just want to excel in everything I do. I would love for my blog to become something bigger for me this year. I don't want to earn lots of money or anything like that, I simply want to be able to spend as much time as possible doing what I love and building a community within in. So if you want to come along for the crazy ride that is 2015 then be sure to give me a follow on bloglovin and I'll see you soon!

I'm so excited to just start doing more of the things I love. Have a little look at my summary of 2014 (HERE).

Here's to 2015, let's make it a great one
